Blue Ridge Parkway Cruise in 2011?
Looking for anyone in the area of NC,SC,TN,GA,VA,WV,& KY interested in forming a cruising event on the Blue Ridge Parkway this Spring/Summer whenever the weather warms up.
There are several people I know of that are interested and have discussed it, but it's only a handful of people.
If you would be interested, please reply and post some ideas for the event if you have them. This event is still in the planning stage.
Thanks, JR

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway Cruise in 2011?
Ideally August-September before the leaves start to change. If we go through there when the leaves are changing the amount of traffic on the road will be horrendous; overlooks will be full, no where to park a caravan of cars. I have talk to a few people since I posted this thread, and everyone wants to do it that i've talked to.
I have toyed with many ideas:
One Day Cruise from Asheville to Cherokee
Two Day Cruise from Boone to Cherokee
Three Day Cruise from Waynesboro to Cherokee (whole parkway)
Everyone who wants to go needs to give some input on what they want to do. For information check this link: http://www.nps.gov/blri/index.htm
I don't want to make a schedule to short that most people won't think is worth coming, nor too long that will require people to take a vacation off work just to attend. I would hope to get 20-30 cars to go, but I really don't think it will happen.
If you want to come just give some input.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway Cruise in 2011?
I have been putting together a cruising event on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the weekend of August 5, 6, and 7. I'm looking for anyone who wants to come out and cruise America's Most Famous Road, enjoy the view and fellowship with other car enthusiasts. Below you will find a schedule of the weekend event along with preferred hotels that will be the most convenient stay along the parkway. I'm looking forward for a decent turnout (weather permitting) and look forward to seeing you. If you and your friends have ever wanted to caravan down the Blue Ridge Parkway this is your chance.
