I know it would be a bit of a trip for you (not as far as it was for me though), but you may want to consider taking it to Jeff at C.A.M. in Durham. Jeff doesn't do the actual rebuild himself. A friend of his who works at a transmission shop does. But Jeff does the R&R and checks everything else out. Being that Jeff and his friend both have high horsepower T/A's with 4L60e's in them, they have a lot of first hand experience with the situation. You know I don't recommend people lightly, but I don't hesitate to recommend Jeff for something like this.

Mark:
Thanks for the recommendation and I already though of Jeff. Unfortunately, it is too far away.
MORE wants $640 ($320 to R&R and then $320 to dig in and found out what is wrong with it) and then the parts to rebuild it. I was hoping someone might have a recommendation for a performance tranny shop around Charlotte. I have not checked with F-body Motorsports yet to see if they can do it cheaper.
I have already blow two solenoids and the valve body which City replaced for me under my extended warranty. However, once they found the shift kit and the stall, they are refusing to do anymore work on it. Thankfully, they did the work for me.
Thanks again.

Sorry we didn't make it last night. I had an emergency repair come in just as I was getting ready to leave to head that way
I told the guy he was REAL lucky. Another 10 minutes and he would have been here by himself! Oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men...
Next month

One of the "issues" with mine has finally been resolved. It was actually two things: A bad key lock in the steering column and somehow the ignition switch inside the steering column got toasted. It was burned up pretty good, so much so that I'm kind of surprised it didn't start a fire
There is no more dead draw off the battery, but the switch for the electric water pump still doesn't work right
I think for now I'm just going to wire the pump without the auxiliary on/off switch so I can DRIVE it!

Mark, Jess bought an 86 T/A, 305 auto hardtop. Blue and silver. Has some issues but not a bad first f-body!! Thats cool that one of the issues is worked out and it didn't result in a fire, that would have sucked!!
I believe Tubby's is closed on Sundays, I will double check but I don't think they are open! I will see what we can do about a Sunday thing once in a while!!

Chris, Keep us posted on Tubby's. No big deal either way really, but we may be able to get Jake's butt and a couple others out there if Sunday was an option. I don't think I would want to try and change locations though. Tubby's almost feels like home at this point
Yeah, an '86 being 19 years old, it's no surprise it has a few issues. She has the right guy to help her get them squared away though

Sorry I missed it, but I got the Buick running again tonight and I'll be at the next one.
I'll probably still be running with no exhaust.
It's amazing how loud the turbo is without any exhaust hooked up.
