SCFYB is not dead. We are just on a different level. We don't believe in bashing people non stop. We like to have a positive forum. And all get along.

Eh.. im here. I usually post up in the 5th gen section, but ive been broadening my posting lately.

A few of us in the columbia area are talking about starting up a SC Fbody Club. It would be more of a division of the worldwide camaro club, have forums of course, and a good sized web site hopefully. If there's interest, we'll do it.

As for SCFYB, it was a good site when it debuted.. but its since gone down dramatically, and is more of a Coastal or Upstate site. For me It was also always a bit too Cliqueish. We need a more F-body centralized site, and one that is also a club, as we dont have any true Fbody sites in SC that I am aware of.

The type of Fbody club im talking about is the type that the mustang owners have.. Other states have them for Fbodys too, but we for some reason dont. An example would be Fastlouis.com or Triad Fbody or folks like that. Anyways, im here.. and if others are interested in said forum/club, well that would be better in the long run!

well we started to hold meetings in columbia, last august of the thirgens locally, the first meeting we had 14 or so of nothing but 3rd gens.. i thought that was a pretty good start.. so we'll see.. its still in the planning stage, but if there is interest, it may be good. I would love to see us have a camaro /firebird club like the mustangs do..

I hear ya. I wasnt able to go much last year. Hopefully that will be different this year. I just talked to one of my best friends who just moved to FL on tues, and he told me that on the way down, he lost 1st, and 3rd gear. this is the 4th overhaul he'es had on that tranny. He gonna yank it, and send it off to Texas, and get it built to handle 800HP . He just paid $2700 for his F60 dana 12bolt rear end, so this one is a hit in the kisser. He wasnt expecting that to happen. Any way, he is gonna try and get it fixed so he can come up. His car is pretty stout. Im still tryin to get ahold of any body else i can think of to come out...im hopin to break my 13.6 record... ive done a ton of mods since then, but ive also acquired a ton of miles as well. My Z was my daily driver, till i bought my 95T/A w6sp. Then i just traded it for a 2000 Z71. Needed a truck bad. but i miss my T/A anda the 6sp..Im curently trying to get everything together for my 6sp swap in the Z. Need more funds though. You know how that is. also savin up for the juice.

The best time on my car is also 13.6. That is with a 2.2 60' at a much higher altitude (Indianapolis, IN). I know with a stall and the rear end set up with new 3.73s, and ET Streets I can hit the high/midish 12s with enough practice. We will see though.

Gotta get the parts on first!! Hopfully Hugger will be out there. John drives a 99 Hugger Camaro and runs some unbelievable times. I would put him against anyone as a driver. So thats, you me, chance, my another TA I met, definately a 01 Cobra (runs about even with us), Your friend, perhaps the Queen of the Southeast VisshusFemme will join us too. Should be awesome!!

MMP has a long history of poor track prep before George Howard bought the place. George is tring his best to turn that around. So I am expecting great conditions and track prep. I KNOW at least one of us will hit the 12s.

I dont know godspeed, my Z seems to be slightly on the decline. I hope i get some kind of good results this year. I at least want to break into the 1.90 60 ft's. 2.0's last year. Who knows this ma be the year..I have owned and raced f-bods( on the street of course) for years ( since 94) man that sounds so long ago... Im sure you'll win the meal.. ha ha ...there is no doubt though, i have built my car to work the track as well as the track. I also went over a little on the parts, but i will have most everything i will need (aftermarket performance wise) when i do build that 357, 360, 383, or 396. I would like to get some drag lites, and slicks

Ewww I want some draglites too. Maybe with all the money chance is saving on rims he can buy us both some.

I know you can get better 60's I ran 2.0 60's in a 3500 1990 9c1 Caprice with hard tires and open differetial. We will get you into the 1.9s I am sure of it! What tires are you running? and what RMP / Launch method are you using?

I can run consistent 2.0's all day long... as least last year ... i need a lighter wheel/tire combe.. Right now, i have as you saw: 17x11 ZR1's w/315 35zr 17's on the back..They weigh 56lb's a piece. Thats alot of rotational mass as well as the drivetrain loss.... I cant stall up very much without the car wanting to push through the lights.. I think its about time for some brake work. I am however able to get it up to about i think it was 1700 rpm. But i couldnt hold it.. Front brakes are wanting to give... I need to totally go through the brakes . I am planning on a LS1 brake upgrade, with crossdrilled and alotted rotors... I allready have the rotors on my car now for my year, but i will be buying a whole new set of them, and two new calipers for the rear, as well as some earls stain/braded brake lines....Ill probably try a set of my stock rims at the track w/ an old worn out set of BFG's comp T/A's that i have...At least they will be lighter...

THats why I am trading Chance. I like my AR Rebels but even mounting some MTs to the rear I would be pushing those huge 275/35 18s on the front but that aint working for me. The guy I got the car from ran 13.6 with those fronts, no stall, at a much higher elevation, and a 2.2 60' so I know there is a lot more in the car. Im pretty sure I can knock down some 12s one I get all my parts on.

It sucks not having all the right tools to do the rebuild. I really want to get it done without paying someone, and done before the 9th. REALLY REALLY BAD!!
