Chalk up another vote for RPM. They are top notch and very willing to work with you till its right. They have done my tranny install, lca's and relo's. I'm very happy with how they've handled business. Give them a call. 872-1171. They are one of the few people I trust to work on my car.

Haha...judging by the prices you have gotten so far, I'd go with RPM. You just cannot beat $525 for a cam and valvetrain job. He's done work on several people's cars here (jkbadz28, Rockafella, a few others) and it will get done right.

Thanks for helping me out. I can't pass up the deal at RPM. Spent some time talking to him on the phone and those guys seem very professional but I will let you know after the job is complete.

I have been talking to Jeff at CAM for the last couple of days and he is really good to go. Prices are great for tuning and with free updates you can't beat it. Now that I found these guys I might just go ahead and throw a different cam in my LT1 and have Jeff tune it. I'm going to do everything I can to get the word out about all these places. Most people have no idea about Rocky, Jeff and or Ryan in this area and pay Ed Wrong to send them mail order tuning... Thanks again!

Have you been to NXR across form KFC on western. I think the owners name is Blain. He drives that primer black 02 SS in town. He has quite a bit of work done to his and may be able to help you out.

On a side note, you should come out to Jersey Mike's on Sat( if it's not snowing) and hang out with the rest of the Camaro guys

Mikie,

I am calling them right now.
I have had Ryan doing my work for months know man. He is great!! I had him do my setup in the sig with Jeff Creech tuning and it ran 10.5's all day man.

I'm sure you've seen me out there. I have stopped by a bunch of times. I don't usually stick around long but I'm sure I've talked to you before. haven't taken my LT1 out there in quite some time but I had the WS6 out there just before Christmas. I sold one of your buddies a hypertech programer. Don't know if you remember me. What is NXR?? Never noticed it before on Western. BTW, I will try to stop in for a few minutes this Saturday..

JK,

Nice setup! I wondered who's car that was when I was looking at his site the other day. Maybe you could stop by when I'm up there doing my tuning. I should be up there in the next couple of weeks. What do ya think?

I spent a bunch of time talking to Ryan on the phone. Cool guy, seems to know his ****. Surprised, he was pretty laid back.

That truck of his seems pretty amazing too.

I'm considering having him do a GM 847 cam install on my LT1... Can't decide if it's too much cam for the auto daily driver though.

At those prices it's worth it to save my knuckles!

A GM 847 is an awfully big cam to put in a daily driven auto, particularly with stock heads. I'd go with something a little smaller. Jeff at CAM can spec you a killer grind for a daily driven auto!

NXR is in the shopping plaza across form KFC about half way down. The owner may be tough to get ahold of because he owns shops in New Bern and greenville but it may be worth asking about.

Yeah i know it. There are two other people I have talked to this week about stopping by too. It's hard to get people to stop by and stay. Nobody seems all that interested in a club around here. There are five of us that have been together for about three years now. Ive got one girl with an SS coming up from Wilmington and another that may come down form New Bern. But I guess we'll see.
Unfortunately there are only a couple of LT1's in the group. Most are LS1's. I'm going to be getting tunercat soon (hopefully) so I can start tuning for the few of us there are.. Ive got the laptop and cable already but I would like to get with somebody who has used it and give me some pointers. Hopefully we'll see you there

I've had my LT1 up on jackstands with the wheels off getting painted for the last week or so. I'm waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so the paint will stick right... If I can finish it up during the day tomorrow I will bring it out instead of the LS1.. Like I said above, I have talked to you guys before and I have a pretty good idea who the 5 or so people that you are talking about. Good group of people. It's tough to keep up a car club in a Marine Corps town. Especially now with so many deployments. There are a few people that are stationed down here that mainly post on the Eastern F Body Association web site that I have told to look for you guys. One of them stopped and talked to you all but deployed to Afghanistan a week or so later. There is another that is still local and I will give him a call and see if he can come out tomorrow....

With backing like that how could I go anywhere else.?? However if Rocky at Fbodymotorsports was any closer he would be considered too.

Wicked_95z,

I went by there last night about 8 and didn't see anybody. Can't say that I really expected to see anybody as cold as it was but it was worth a shot. Hopefully it warms up soon. I also found NXR. Looks like he caters to the import market pretty exclusively.... Does he do anything with Domestics besides his own setup?
