New Orleans on a Monday

Jeremy and I will be hitting New Orleans and staying the night on a Monday next month. We have a hotel, but are looking for a nice place for dinner and places to see. I'd much rather ask the locals than rely on some visitor guide.

We don't want to spend a grand on dinner, but would like a decent place. We also will naturally go down Bourbon Street since he's never been. We would appreciate some ideas on other things to see and a recommendation on a dinner spot. I realize it's a Monday, so that makes the pickings slimmer I'm sure.

Thank you in advance.

There are lots of good places to eat, and most restaurants post their menus on an outside window. I like Brennan's Redfish Grill on Bourbon (near Canal St.) and Musparo's on Decatur. If you like jazz, you'll enjoy the Natchez Steamboat Jazz cruise. It leaves in the evening and the Dukes of Dixieland play during the cruise. It's an amazing view of the city. You can pay more to have dinner, but the food isn't that good. The haunted history and vampire tours are interesting too. Have a great trip!

Are those things we can do on a Monday night/Tuesday morning?

Thank you so much!

I know the cruise is every night. You can make reservations at the Natchez site. I'm very sure the vampire/haunted history tours are every night also. I don't remember where they start the tours, but you can find a flyer at any hotel.
