What are you needing done? We don't have any professional mechanics in MTFBA but plenty of guys willing to lend a hand and help with both advice and wrench turning, including several knowledgeable LT1 guys.

lots of small stuff

i am not mechanically inclined enough or have enough time (or tools) to do what is required, i took the TA (1994) to a mechanic (he had never worked on an lt-1 before) and he said it needed a intake gasket (leaking oil) new oxygen sensors(running real rich) new opti spark, new rear end bearings, rear brakes and rotors turned, headlight motor or gears (not sure) replaced, few other small things. I also own www.outlawracinggraphics.com and would be willing to pay cash and/or trade any work out if needed be, just want to ge the car going "right". Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am a newbie and am totally lost when it comes to these cars, i thought i knew my way around a small block pretty good, till i came across this car (pretty humbling) Thanks in advance~~~~~Mark

I think Chris and the rest of the MTFBA can probably lend you a good hand. You gotta watch out of those Tenn. Boys, they can swap an opti, and get a clutch installed in no time and I can speak from first hand experience.

The intake leak thing is really no big deal. I did half of mine today but ran out of daylight (started to late). I got everything, including the intake, off in less than 3 hours, including 2 trips to Advance Auto Parts, numerous e-mail check breaks and a couple of pauses to stare at the beauty of the F-Body - all without instructions. I'm a SLOOOOW worker too.

I don't know when I'll get it back together. I've got to leave to hunt tomorrow and the Iron Bowl is Saturday so I might not get to it until Sunday .

I'm sure someone will be able to help you out. Heck, if its a good time I just might make the trip up there to lend a hand. We're lacking in the active F-Body modding department down here.

Re: lots of small stuff

1) Intake Gasket shouldn't be bad. It can seem more intimidating than it is.
2) New 02's are a piece of cake - probably one of the easiest things you can do on an F-Body
3) Opti Spark is a huge PITA, but there are plenty of experienced people who have done it before.
4) Rear End Bushings - I've never done this one before so I can't comment
5) Rear Brakes and Rotors - Pretty straight forward.
6) Headlight problems - If you're lucky, the gears will just need to be turned. This is a problem on a lot of F-Body's but its easily fixed.

A couple solid days of work should be all it takes to get her perfect .

Yes, it is a huge pain to someone who has never done it and has limited mechanical ability.
