Might be moving to SC. Couple of questions.

I applied for a job at Charlseton AFB and might be moving there soon. How is it there as far as weather, real estate, things to do, etc.? Is it true what people say about southern hospitality? Ive been to NC once but didn't get to do much. Any replies will be appreciated. Thanks, Merle.

I have lived in SC for a few years now but haven't been to Charleston yet, although I have come to the conclusion I am going to make a trip one of these weekends. From what I hear and how it could compare to where I am just below Charlotte NC the weather is pretty sweet. I have heard there isn't a whole lot to do but I want to make that decision myself. There are a few on the board from around that way they may not have checked the boards yet though!! All in all you should like it!!

Charleston and surrounding areas up and down the coast have a fairly active F-Body crowd. Go to www.scfyb.com and check out the "Charleston" board in the forum.

SC is great which is why I moved back. I hope you will Charleston. It'll be a bit cheaper if you live a little ways up I-26, like Goose Creek or Summerville. It can get hot and humid as hell but the winters are mild. I love the climate, but I'm a bit north of you just outside of Charlotte. My wife is from CT and she loves Charleston, it's her favorite city. There's a good variety of stuff to do but not as much to do as compared to Atlanta or another big city. Charleston is real laid back. Are you close to college age? The Citadel and College of Charleston are close. I was at the USN Weapons Station when I was stationed there (back in '92) and had a blast. Most of us Southerners are polite but as you know the world's not as friendly anymore but generally speaking, yes, the hospitality is still there.

Good luck!
