Ill be glad to take any tool donations. No i dont have bearing pullers, nor a slide hammer.. They would be a great addition to the slowly increasing tool collection..

It is the very least I can do for all the help you are giving me with my stall converter!! I know you and I both will be doing our gears/rebuild about the same time so I figure I'll start early and get some of the tools we will need. Im hoping to have enough left over after the install, mount and balance to take us all out to Waffle House when we get done. Sure we will be greasy as hell but it makes the dinning experiance more fun.

Had a issue this morning. Got to the 111/14 intersection and my wheellocks up. Im like great!! So I pull into the Exxon and see its the drives front that locked. THinking it was my fabricated slide pin that snapped I call my wife borrow the Honda. Get back pull the wheel and see that the Caliper mounting bolts were 1. Missing the top one, 2. the bottoms about to fall slam out. So my caliper was going all over the place. Went to every parts house in the tri county area, hit the dealers, and no one had a "caliper mounting bolt." I go back to the car pull out the top one take it to O'Rielys get a matching bolt. Go back to the car and it didnt fit!!! Bolts the exact same as the bottom one!!! So Im mad, frustrated, and tired I walk around and look across the street to find my original one laughing at me. I grab it stick it in and Im good to go.

Im parking the car till I can pull the stabilizers and get at the diff cover as it is leaking horribly. So I thankfully have an extra gasket, and will do it when we go to Thomas on the 3rd. Sheeesh!!!

Well its fixed...well partly fixed. We will get the rest done on the 3rd! Then hopefully I'll be good to go.

Chance when I warm my slicks up on the 9th you need to give me a good "There ya go!!" like you did for Erik in the 2nd run movie.

I thought about doing the plugs, oil, tranny too. Ive already got to get more rear diff fluid since my girdle is leaking so much.

How much of my help will you need during the stall install? If Chance is gonna be there, and hopefully Wes too then I can focus on the "other" stuff and stay out of your way. Let me know what you need and Ill make sure you got it.

So ,they have a lift? What about a tranny jack?Is it a floor model, or is it one you can use with the car on the lift?As long as you have the converter, fluid, cooler and hose, we should be good. Usually with the right tools, i can pull the old one off in about 45min. Install will take a few mins more. U know . Make sure it all goes back together right..

Heh...just make sure to tighten ALL the bolts!! I don't think I could handle another day like yesterday. Yes they have a tranny jack and it is a stand up unit. Called Reese Tire in Slapout and they wont mess with slicks, even drag radials. Called Chuck at SECO and he said there is a guy at Minieke nick named Nugget that will do it though!

I still need to check my B&M cooler to see if there is hose in the box. Hopefully there is, and it will be enough.

So check List:
Mount Balance tires
Buy 5 qts ATF Fluid Dextron/Micron III
Buy more Rear Axle Lube 3qts
Buy Another bottle of LSD Additive
Check Box for Hose

That should cover fixing the diff cover leak, refilling the diff, installing the cooler, converter, and getting the DRs ready to go. Then I do believe I'll be good to go on the 9th!!

Also if the cooler hose looks shorter than 2FT go ahead, and buy at least 3ft so we can decide where you want to rout it to..and have enough to work with. Its not that expensive. On another note, i bet ur glad i didnt take that other diff cover gasket u offered me. Ha looks like u needed it after all....Did u put RTV on the gasket before installation?, and did u clean the mating surfaces off with a putty knife, and some denatured alcy.to make it stick? just curious. That would be the only way it would seal properly, and provide a long time of non leakie ness..lol

I would have gotten another Gasket if you took it. I work very close to SECO so its not biggie.

I normally use RTV but was at a friend house. He uses some stuff called Forma-Gasket, and I didn't like it. I did clean it very well, but didnt use Alcohol. I guess it I took to long to get it all on there and tight. Like I said I had a ton of clearance issues that prolonged the time it took to get it on.

It will hold with my RTV and the stabilizer and such out of my way. I am sure of it. Working in the cold, at night, on the ground, being tired, using lame Forma-Gasket, and not having any room at all is what i am blaming. It was all my fault, and I hurried hoping it would hold. This time around I can take my time, use good tools, and my RTV, with room. It should be a snap!!

Ill get 7 qts of ATF, what brand do you all recomend? Im gonna go later and check that I have at least 2ft of hose.

I do need two 2' pieces of hose right?

Yea, just in case we need to trim to fit. You can use what ever fluid u want to. All fluids are generally the same, except for synthetics. I use coastal, at autozone, its the cheapest.I talked to a tranny guy , and he told me that ur mostly paying for the mane. So i use coastal, cause thats whet he uses, and i dont have any problems..Ur choice though...
