Z06 clutch in 99Z hydraulics required?

I did a search but came up with nothing. I am installing a clutch on my friends 99 Z28. I bought the Z06 clutch and the slave cylinder. Is the master cylinder required?

It's not really required but it's one of those things that you do while you've got it apart. The 98-99 hydraulics are not as good as the 2000-02. So it's and up grade.
Just make sure that you do the drill mod too.
See www.installuniversity.com for the instructions.
