Yup. You guessed it. ANOTHER Rear end noise.

Hey there fellas.

Okay. Here's the deal. I took a decent size bottom out going over a hill a bit too fast.

Problem is, now I have a serious noise coming from what can only be construed as the rear end. It only happens when i really get on it in 1st and 2nd gear. And even then, it only happens (usually) at the lower rpms. The noise, I guess, is like a mix of grinding and knocking coming from the back of the car.

What could this be? Im open to opinions or experiences.

Oh. And its not the exhaust knocking. Thats been checked and rechecked. Its on tight.

Thanks for checkin it out.

I would recommend removing the rearend cover and examining the teeth on both your ring and pinion.

Maybe your tranny tail shaft is now too low relative to the rear end. When I put in my Gearvendors it vibrated at speed up to 30 mph.
After adding 3/8'' in shims to the tranny mount, all the vibrations went away.
