Would you do this with your rear end?

Other addition to the laundry list, 2 broken teeth off of the ring gear. The question is, I have the ring gear from my Richmond set when the pinon teeth broke and I have the pinon from Strange in the car with broken ring gear teeth. Can I combine the two used pieces together? They are 2 series, I figure it's the same chances as buying used gears. Is this a bad idea? The mech I talked to said yes. I can save about 200 or so $$. Thoughts?

What's the worst that could happen? Maybe having to buy a new set. Give it a try.

True, I just don't want to have to pay for an install twice. Is there any way to have the ring and pinon inspected, or is it one of those, take a chance deals. If so, I'll just buy new gears.

More than likely take a chance sort of deals. There is always that possibly that when ring gears went on the Stranges, it could have weakened the pinion and vise versa for the Richmond.
