Would a T56 from an LT1 car work with an LS1 engine?

Here is the situation. I have a T56 tranny from a 97 Firebird (LT1 car). I want to drop in an LS1 in my car, but apparently I have some problems. I was told that the bolt holes on the bell housing would not line up to the LS1 block. I was also told I would need a new flywheel if I wanted this to work. I also have a Spec stage III clutch assembly for my T56 out of the LT1 car. Does anyone know if I would have to get a whole new clutch assembly as well?

The input shaft is different too. Just sell it and get an LS1 T56.
