Is it worth it spending $300?

I have a 95 a4 with intake, exhaust, underdrive pulley, and a couple other bolt-ons. My friend is changing his rear end in his car and is giving me his 3.42 gears out of his old rear end. I have 2.32 gears right now. I know of a shop that would install the gears and calibrarte shift points for $300. Is it worth it, or should I spend the money on something else? What kind of difference should I see in the quater mile? I'm running low 14's right now.

why dont you give him your rearend...he can put his gears in that one, and you take his rear end, then all you have to do it get it "recalibrated""

The 3.42 gears will definitely make a difference over your 2.73s. I say go for it.
