Re:

Yeah 3:73 is perfect for a automatic go for it - I have a 94 with a 6 speed and just got a 4:10 - one of the best mods I did to the car. The only think you might need is traction bars or should I say control arms - to prevent wheel hop. Wheel hop will break your stock 10 bolt. Control arms will prevent that. But yeah 373 is well worth the money.

Re:

It's around the $450-600.00 range - that includes the parts and the labor. If you dont have any experince doing this dont try it. It takes a professional 7-8 hours to do. They have to make sure every thing is perfect. People put 4:10 in there automatic. That might be a little to much for freeway driving. 3:73 is a good gear. I have allot of buddies with 3:73 gears in there mustangs and camaros. But just let the professionals do the job. I paid $550.00. You figure the ring and pinion is around $200.00, bearings $100.00 and labor $250.00

Wow, what shop takes 7-8 hours? One that is bending you over. I changed mine with the rear still in the car in 2 hours, feel sorry for whoever did that to you. Unless you have the proper tools, I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself. But if your just replacing the carrier, thats a drop a go project.

no professional should take anywhere near 7 hours to change gears, it took me and my buddy about 1.5-2 hours and the gears in my camaro were perfect
