will my 6spd transmission fluid level be the same wheather the car is hot or not?

just wondering,.. bc i thought i was leaking some trans oil but i've checked it twice in the last couple months and i wasnt low but about 3 months ago i was low 7/10 of a qt thats what made me think i was losing trans fluid.

when i've checked the car it as been driven a little bit.. will that change my reading compared to if the car was cold..?

Fluids expand when they are hot, but I doubt it would make more than 1/8" to 1/4" difference. It certainly isn't goint to cause the level to appear 7/10th quart low when its cold.

Moving to "Drivetrain".......

Just go off the hayes manul when checking the trans fluid and yes normally the level with be differnt.

When hot it should be higher then when checked cold.

A little bit of driving isn't going to heat up the fluid very much. The key to checking the fluid level is that the car is level.
