will LS1 T56 fit in LT1?

i am going to do a T56 swap and am wondering if this can be done. will the bell housings interchange or what? an info on this would be great. thanks

It will with work and a little money.You have to get a new input shaft and front plate since the slave is different also the bell housing is diferent.D&d transmissions can get all the parts for you or check some of the salvage sites.But it will cost a bit of cash.
