Lighter, but not stronger. If you are having a vibration problem from the steel DS, it might help.

If you plan on going to the strip, I pesonaly wouldn't recommend an aluminum DS. I was trying to find the pics someone posted of thier's that broke, but they were deleted. DS twisted in half on a launch.

hmm, well I have been to the track on street tires putting down 430rwhp and not twisted my ls1 driveshaft, but wait until the sticky tires get put on... then I will have problems.
Street driving its fine. I drive hard and do burnouts and hard accelerations with no ill effects... except for a ****ty stock 10 bolt that will be upgraded to the dana 60 soon. lol.

i have personally broke both an lt1(steel) and an ls1(aluminum). but i think with my 9 inch it was not having the correct pinion angle was the real problem. i have a buddy that cuts 1.51's short times on a stock ls1 shaft. i am not saying that it would never break but i think it will take a bunch of abuse before it would ever let go with a correct pinion angle. hell even if you spend big money and get a dennys shaft and put it in a bind it will break too.

I was putting down less than 260 rwhp through a 6 speed. However, I was on sticky tires. That said, why do you want to change?
