Will 95 4L60E work in 96?

I need a new trans and there is a guy local that has one from a 95 Z28 with low miles and I need to know if it will work in my 96. Thanks!

you shouldn't have a single problem putting a 95 4l60e in a 96

Thanks a bunch. The 95 trans only has 50k miles on it and he only wants $300 for it. Mine is spraying fluid all over the place from behind the torque converter.

How 'bout you just replace the input shaft seal?

I just figured since I have to pull it either way I might as well replace it with a better trans. My roommate said the same thing, that I should just replace the seal. Mine has 136k miles on it and the fluid is black. This trans I am getting has 48k miles on it and is only $300. I will still probably change the seal on it too when I install it.
