Who makes the strongest 4L60e in the NJ area?

My 4l60E took a dump today and I need to find a place near or in NJ that can replace it for me that can handle 500RWHP...

Anyone have any leads?

Any help would be appreciated.

Claude, dump the 4l60e and get a nice th350 or th400 w/ a gear vendor OD if you want 4 gears ..

You're going to eventually get one anyway ..

Sean, you are probably right and I am keeping my options open.

Do you have any idea what that would cost with the install? Or know of any places that can do that in NJ?

Thx,
Claude

Well, not sure of the cost, but, you'd have to get a TH400 or 350, have it built, get a new torque converter, new dipstick tube (I think the 4l60E one doesn't fit) and a new driveshaft..

Tranny cooler would be a good idea, maybe an SFI approved flexplate.. The local AAMCO down here has a guy that swears he could put together a bulletproof one for under $600 .. I mean, you can get a case for like $45-100 at a junk yard, then the internals need to be slightly upgraded..

If you want to stay with the 4L60E give Eric Schertz at Dynotech a call...He specializes in the 4L60E and can built em to handle 650 fwhp...and they are in NJ...908-704-8536...I'm probably gonna use him I've heard good things...They currently use the 4L60E in their 9 sec vette....

I called http://www.dynotechperformance.com/ and they did verify that they could rebuild my trans to handle upto 650 Flywheel HP and provide a 12 month warranty too. It will be a lot cheaper than doing the Rossler trans (about ~1300 bucks cheaper since I will be avoiding shipping cost too) so that is what I going to do. I should have it installed and running by late next week.

I will post my results.

Thanks again,
Claude

Hey, please let me know how the transmission turns out...I talked to Eric Schertz and he seemed like he knew what he was doing...He told me that he alone builds the transmissions which keeps the "goof factor" down...I'm gonna use him too as soon as I finish the damned basement for my wife...Its funny how fast car money turns into house money...

Guys,
I just got my Car back from Dynotech yesterday. It seems to work well so far but did not really get too many chances to beat up on the car because of the weather and road conditions. Dynotech does uses some good components and Eric at Dynotech claims it has lasted in a few 4th Gen F-body 650 Flywheel HP for a few years with no problems so far. I will keep you guys updated on how it does for me.

Here are some of the compenents in my trans:
All new clutches, bushings, paper and rubber seals. Includes Transgo shift kit, 13-vane blueprinted pump assembly, Alto wide-band, Alto Red Devil 3-4 clutches, Modified lock-up controls. All new electronics. Teflon pump/drum and tail housing bushings. billet 4th gear apply servo. Beast Heavy Duty sun shell assembly & 3-4 servo release check-valve.

I did have my vig converter which stalled about 3000-3200 before the rebuild sent back to Vig to have it restalled and cleaned. I went 400rpms lower cuz I drive the car everyday and its was a lil to much in traffic for everyday driving, 600 Miles weekly for me.

He does give a 12Month/12K mile warranty too and the trans was much cheaper than if I were to go with Rossler.

I guess time will tell how well and long it last but I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks,
Claude
