Who had put there 10 bolt to the test...

I was wondering who here has ever put there 10 bolt to the test. I mean as far as having 600 rwhp or more. I want to know who here put it to the test and it held up for a while or so. - Mike. Is there anything to do just to make it stronger to last a year with that power or so. I have a m6 4:10 gears. Soon to have 600rwhp turbocharged. I dont plain to run slicks or drags on the 10 bolt just street tires which are the kdw bf goodrich. I dont plan to launch the car at 6k. From a roll I plan to punch it. -

An aftermarket ring & pinion, solid spacer, and maybe get stronger aftermarket axles? I think the ends of the factory axles are pretty weak and often shear off (if a gear doesn't break first).

Re: Who had put there 10 bolt to the test...

I've been running 420rwhp thru my 10 bolt for 10 years only wearing out an Auburn. Had Pro Series in for 7 years with no problems racing on BFG DRs...But, I'm an A4 car and I think I'm pushing the limits of the rear. The problem is that no matter what you do to your rear it will not change the fact that its only a 7.5" ring gear, girdles, stud kits, solid spacers, axles, etc, may help a little, but with your power AND torque I would definitely save for a 12 bolt or 9". If you are going to make 600 rwhp then you've obviously got some serious $$$ in that combo. Take a minute and fortify your entire driveline and chassis first, then you can stomp it from anywhere you please without leaving a trail of broken parts behind you...

Re: Who had put there 10 bolt to the test...

With an M6 you can easily trash the rear on a stock car with good traction. 600rwhp is definately gonna do it if you plan on using any sort of tire. Which is what your going to either want or need to go with. There's no sense in having that much power if a 300rwhp car can whoop your butt because all you do is a smoke show. I bet you'll probably be fine with street tires as far as it lasting, but you won't get any real performance. Heck you can have 1000rwhp and the rear will probably hold up. You'll just never see any performance and in my opinion that would be a waste. Take 2k off the price your putting into the motor, have 400-500rwhp and a 12 bolt rear that can take 5k sidesteps of the clutch on slicks. Then you'll be having fun.
