Where to get a 12 bolt rear and pricing..

Found out I need a new ring + pinion and carrier unit along with a new driveshaft... instead of sticking w/ the 10bolt stock I want to go w/ a 12 bolt... my friend at a toyota dealer said that 12 bolts are upwards of 4 grand... but i vaguely remember seeing on here people talking about getting them for 2,000.... I want to go w/ strange and 4.10s (its a M6 car) so where do you guys suggest I look at

Thanks

Definitely, a 12-bolt wont hit that much money. You can probably get a differential with all options for about 2400.00. Some places off the top of my head are www.thunderracing.com, www.flp2win.com, and www.ls1speed.com I know LS1speed carries both Moser and Strange, not sure about the other two.

For a Strange 12-Bolt, and Denny's Nitrous Ready DS, I dropped about $2700. You can find the Strange 12-bolts on GP (I got mine through Tbryne) for just over $2100 fully optioned, then the $400 for the Denny's NRDS. Add on the misc BS, and you're about $2500-$3K total...

I went with 3.73 gears instead of the 4.10s, but I'm planning on a N20/FI motor and don't want to run out of gear on the top of the 1/4.

Ok, thanks guys... think I'm gona order out of ls1speed.com ... This is something that can be put in over a weekend right?? The product description seems like its pratically a direct "bolt on" replacement.

Make sure you get a pair of (I don't know the exact name of the part), shock mounts. I got a pair from an off road truck parts store. They mount the shocks to the axle. You will find out that the stock bolts(or pins, or mounts wtf?) are too short and the shock will hit the axle. You will have to get a drill bit to make the mounting holes a little bigger for the mounts. Also, check the drive shaft length, some times they are too long, and it might have to be shortened, or replaced with a new one. You will also need a conversion style U-joint, the yoke on a moser 12 bolt is a 1350, I think the sock DS is a 3R (or something like that) If all goes well then it should only be a weekend, but how often does a job go perfect?
