Whats missing? T56 question

Ok I bought a t56 from a 96 z28. All I have is the Trans and the bellhousing. I know I need the hydrualics but what about the shifter fork? Is there something that holds the shifter fork to the trans??

Re: Whats missing? T56 question

Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, inspection cover (if you want it), crossmember and tranny mount (i recommend getting a better one than stock, LT1 mounts are bad about breaking... i used an LS1 mount and just had to do a little grinding on the bracket that holds the cat to make it fit), pigtails for the speed sensor and reverse light sensor (i only hooked those two up, CAGS and reverse lock-out aren't really needed)... and i think that's about it. You can reuse the BH-to-block bolts from the auto. And make sure you have the little cover that goes in the spot where the slave cylinder goes.

The fork rides on a pin assembly with a 2-prong spring (held in place with one bolt). You have to make sure it's pulled out to it's farthest position when installing the trans, then push it back in to engage the forks over the throw out bearing (you can peer into hole for the slave cylinder to see where to push it in). You don't have to take the bolt out, IMO it makes it a lot harder.

Be sure to use loctit on the bolt that mounts the "T" block for the fork pivot. This bolt can back out and leave you stranded (been there done that).
