Hey guys which years had the 700r4 autos and which had the 4l60e. Getting ready to buy a 95-97 Z28 and I have a Art Carr extreme 700r4 already and I'm wondering if it will work in these year cars and if not I'll sell it.

 

93 was the only year LT1 which got the 700r4 but you can make a 700r4 work on a newer LT1.. it's been done before many times.

 

I have a 700R4 in my 1994 with a manual valve body. The computer is from a 6-speed car. No speedo or odometer and I have to shift it myself. Hoewver there is probably a way around these minor inconveniences but since mine is primarily for the track it doesn't bother me.

 

I know how one can be made to work with a newer car if anyone is interested... including torque converter lockup and release (these will need custom wiring but not anything too hard) and proper programming.

 

could you enlighten me on how to make it work madwolf? i have a 96 z with the 4l60e, but am planning on putting in a used 700r4 i was going to buy. Thanks in advance

 

my 93 caddy fleetwood has the 700r4 transmission and it has over 200,000 miles on it and still runs strong, also the 92 and 93 buick roadmasters has the 700r4 transmission
