What year rear ends are identical?
Re: What year rear ends are identical?
the housings are the same from 93-02. The brakes and axles diff but can be swapped out. What is most important is getting a rear end with the same ABS set up you have. You will need one with out traction control also known as a 3 channel as i don't believe they offered traction control in 93. Most people are gonna tell you its a waste of time to dump any money into a stock 10bolt considering they break so easily.
Re: What year rear ends are identical?
So any 93-02 will work for me as long as it's a 3-channel? I was going to swap the 3.23s for some 3.73s but I kind of wanted to coat the case. If I picked up an extra rear I could coat it and put the new gears in the coated one. That way I can just swap rears and the car isn't down for a week or so while it's coated. I know I can't expect much from the 10-bolt but the stonger rear is out of the question.
Thanks
Thanks

I believe any 3 channel rear will work. I've heard the only diff between the LS1 rear and LT1 rear is the axle length so all you have to do is swap out the axles and switch brakes or switch over to the LS1 brakes. I imagine the diff axle length is for the diff LS1 rear parking brake setup.
