Question What would I need to replace gears myself?

I don't like the idea of having a 3600lb car jump in the air because of the rear end grenading. My gears are whining like they did right before explosion. I don't think a bunch of bolts will stop me this time from installing things myself.

I don't trust Motive Gear anymore. What's the next best thing? I'm going 3.73s this time.

Do I still need an install kit if I can do it myself?

Where do I get all the instruments (dials?) for adjustments?

There is impending doom. It may be too late for my ring & pinion. We're holding our for a hero. A hero till the morning li-ight.

I don't think the problem is with the motive gears, the 10 bolt is just a week rear.
You need an install kit, it has the required bearings, gasket, seals, bolts and spacers which are needed to setup the correct pattern and backlash.
Proform carries a pinion depth tool that's nice to have but not esential for the install.
One thing make the setup procedure much simpler is having a used honed pinoin bearing.
I've done 3 gear swaps, and I like to take the whole rear out and take my time until I get the perfect pattern.
