What Tranny Do I Have?

What Tranny Do I Have?

I know that Chevy put Viper trannies in the Camaro. Now I only thought that was for 93-94 is that right? I have a 95 M6 what tranny do i have?

You got that backwards. Viper put the Camaro tranny in.

Actually the T56 is used in a number of high perf vehicles, including Firebird, Camaro, Corvette, Viper and I believe a newer version of the high perf Mustang.

And there are differences between all of them. For example, the strengthened input shaft on the Viper T56 which the F-bodies never got.

Yes there are differences in the trannies between the various vehicles they are used in, but they are very substantially alike. In fact, there are even differences in the t56 btween various year f-body. Here is a link that outlines some of those differences.

The thing to note here is that the t56 is a bullishly strong tranny and is among the best ever developed regardless what vehicle it is used in.
