what tools for ring gear swap, dial ind. question 2
i know you need a magnetic dial indicator, but what kind, the kind with the base that is more remote and has an arm coming off it to the dial gauge, on a dial indicator with a simple magnet on the back side of the round dial?
also what other tools will I need to set it up.

i used the more remote type indicator. you may be able to do it with something simpler.
we also used a very small torque wrench that was able to measure in in-lbs to test how much to tighten the crush sleeve (i think that was the purpose...few years ago).

dont forget that when youdo a ring gear swap that you are going to have to replace the pinion too because they wear in a set. If you are not changing the gear ratio then you can keep the shims for your pinion and not worry about buying a pinion depth tool.
