What should I do
What should I do
I got a real tuff decision to make.
About a month ago I finished putting a lt4 cam and coilpacks on my 94 z28.
two days later I lost 3rd gear. for the record, I hadn't even gone past 1/2 throttle. I'm not sure what I should do. currently my car is parked in the garage at my dad's house where all my tools are. I live in an apartment and don't have a garage. My dad said I could leave it there as long as it can be moved. (1'st and 2nd still work.) So here's my problem. The solution that would make the most sense, since I curently don't have much money would be to pull it and rebuild it myself. problem is whatever I do, I gotta do in a weekend, and I need total assurence that it won't blow again. I don't doubt my mechanical skills, but I do doubt the 4L60E, after reading hundreds of posts about guys going through those things like crazy.
I don't think I could justify putting a stock 4L60E in there knowing that it Could break. Yes I know plenty of people running 450hp on a stock 4L60E, where I'm probably only pushing 300 something. but this is something I don't want to fix twice. and before this there were no wear signs. It seems that my only options are...
1. Buy a built 4l60e $1600+ from what I've seen
2. Buy a new T56 conversion $2000+
3. Buy a used T56 conversion $1200+ thats about the lowest price I've seen on the "for sale" message board.
what do you guys think?

Re: What should I do
I don't know what your goal is with your car but if it is drag racing with lots of power a well bult A4 will get you down the track alot more consistently than a M6, if your goal is just to have a fun to drive high powered street car then get an M6.
