Weird vibration

There is a weird vibration coming from the rear of the car. It only happens on acceleration and deceleration when in gear. It's not strong vibration but definately can be felt. Also it does not happen constantly, often yet not too often. First I thought that it might be the resonance (sp?) from the exhaust when it touches the flooarboard but I doubt it, maybe posi going bad? Any ideas? All input appreciated, thanks.

How can you tell if the mounts are bad.

I'm with teke on the u-joints. That's what I'd check first. If it isn't that I'd check all the rear suspension bushings. Good luck.

Make sure it's not a misfire...it feels like a slight vibration when accelerating

With a misfire I would have felt a loss of power while accelerating, but there is non, it pulls hard but the vibration can be felt coming from the back somewhere.
