Vibration problems
Vibration problems
I have a 97 6spd in which I recently had the clutch go. I had the shop change the clutch and under the suggestion also change the flywheel. The car has over 177K miles so I figured it might be time for the change. After getting the car back I immediately noticed a problem. I took it to a more reliable place after the dealership failed to recognize that there even was something wrong with it and we are trying to locate the source of my problem.
I'm getting a vibration when I try and give it some gas in the lower RPMs. The noise becomes more noticeable as I get into fifth and six gears. I find that if I shift at higher RPMs I'm not detecting the vibration or it goes away as I accelerate to higher RPMs. This was not occurring at all prior to the clutch and flywheel install and I am not sure what the problem might be. My mechanic has tried a few things but seems puzzled as to what it might be. I figure if I can come up with a list of ideas there might be something he hasn't tried.
Any and all suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

What kind of clutch did you install? Stock or aftermarket? What kind of flywheel did you put? One thing that it could be is if you got an aftermarket Clutch there is a chance its not balanced correctly and causes the vibration. Then when its at high RPM the vibration gets to high that you cant notice it. I have the same issue. Its very slam but I notice everything. It normally does it when I just give it a little gas, under 2000 rpm's.
