Transmission Clutch Master/Slave removal

Currently, I'm replacing the clutch in a 95 z28 lt1 6 speed and have come to a possible problem, maybe. I began to take the Clutch Master/Slave off and as I started to remove it the piston began pushing it out. Is this normal? Should I go ahead and remove or might it be a cause to the problems? When pushing the clutch peddle in it would have a grinding sound so I figured it was throwout bearing? Any replies would be awesome. Thankyou.

There should be a little bit of pressure on the slave, don't worry about it pushing itself out as you remove the nuts.

As Chris mentioned, it is pretty normal to push out a little. You can easily overcome it when it comes time for reassembly.

Just be certain to NOT press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder off....you'll destroy it. I mention this because someone I know decided to test for a funny noise by working the clutch....

Re: Transmission Clutch Master/Slave removal

Thankyou 97WS, and Hunter, very much. Hopefully I'll have it put in and back together here shortly today. It's not as complicated as I thought, so far. Thankyou again.
