Tranny rebuild??????

Okay. I have put about 1500 miles on my trans and it crapped out again. I have a total on maybe 4000 miles on my last two. I really don't think I want a 400 because I like to drive my car everywhere. Don't want to blow the money on a 4l80e. But I don't know what to do.

My car has 360 ci, the twin cooled D1sc, 224/236 cam, afr 190 heads, and some bolt ons. I know other people make way more
power and have 4l60es I would like to make mine live but how?
