Hi, how often do you guys perform transmission service (changing oil etc) and how important is it. It's been Approx 13K miles since I last did (April 06).

its important if you like your transmission.

 

I pull the plug in my transmission pan every time I pull the plug in my oil pan. Heat kills the additive package in the oil so replacing a few quarts every 5000 is just insurance for my transmission. I also run a Magnafilter in the return line.

 

So are you saying that you only change your engine oil every 5000 miles?!?!?! Good luck with that one, not my cup of tea.
