I am not 100% sure but it seems that sometimes you stomp the car and it kicks down and screams away and sometimes you stomp it and it just sits there and slowly moves out.Is this a common problem with these 460 trannies.I do have the crappy 2.73 gears not sure if that matters.The downshift just doesn't seem to have a ryhme or reason and almost lost to a cavalier from light to light the other day when floored it and it didn't kickdown.The tranny seems fine other than this.Would low fluid cause this..haven't actually checked it will right away.

Car has 60,000 miles on it.

Also buddy has 98 lumina z34.It also seems to do this irregular downshift thing.And it also is a big dog when it don't downshift and this was around town and a bit of highway today.
Appreciate any light you can give on this subject.I have an hpp but don't think it changes the downshifts,would a shift kit help or whats the deal here..anything to check or replace thats simple like a modulator on the tranny or something..?
