NEED HELP TODAY

is the 2ND gear in a 94+ t56 interchangable with the 2nd gear from a m29. i know that the gear ratio is a little different, but if it will fit, i'm going to have to use one for my rebuilt this weekend...I HAVE TO HAVE THE CAR RUNNING THIS WEEKEND

What does an M29 come in? From my experience you can not interchange the gears from a t56 unless it is a t56.

the M29 is one of the 6 speeds in the 1993 cars...
the m29 and m28 were the 2 diferent types....the only difference is a change in gear ratio...if you got to speeddensity.org....in the engine tech section, there is a sticky thread showing the difference in ratio of all the 6 speeds...that might better help explain my situation....but all i'm interested in is if can take 2nd gear from a 94+ tranny, although a different gear ratio, and replace my old. broke gear with it.

 

I doubt it, without changing all the gears, since the cluster gear is matched to the gear ratio, so.....

 

I agree. It will not work. I have had people try to interchange the gears and they do not work for other applications.
