tranny question?

just out of curiosity, but i'm looking at a magazine right now, and its showing a tranny swap in an ls1 camaro. its showing the slave cylinder to go right on to the input shaft, is it like that on all ls1 camaros? cause its no where the same as the slave cylinder on my transmission?

and it seems that it pushes on the pressure plate as to where it pulls on mine. is that just the difference in trannys between lt1s and ls1s?

You sir, are correct . LS1 is a "push" type clutch, vs. the LT1 "pull" type. From everything I can see (and have heard from people) the LS1 is a much better design. The throw-out bearing is incorporated into the slave cylinder, so it's all one unit (a little expensive, but simple ). So there is no clutch fork, or external component to the LS1 clutch.
