Question Tranny problems

I have a 90 rs with the 700-r4 tranny, and whenever i take off from a stop, the transmission acts like it doesnt want to shift into 2nd gear, and it sits at high rpm for about 5 seconds, then shifts, and seems to do ok until i get up to about 85 mph and then it wont shift at all after that...it just goes up to really high rpm and sits. It only does that when i mash it, and durin normal driving it seems to shift fine but if i get on it hard....it downshift and then lets the rpm's go way up like it does when going from 1st to 2nd. My cuzn said that the servos in the tranny might be bad...and ive had ppl tell me that the throttle cable is out of adjustment, and if it is...how do i adjust it...or if its the servos...should i go to a junkyard and get a new one or replace the servos.......any advice is appreciated.

thanks
chris

Re: Tranny problems

thanks for the advice. i tried adjusting the cable and it didnt help. i had a buddy tell me that it could be a modulator valve that runs off a vacuum line that goes into the tranny, but he wasnt sure because hes never worked on 305's before. could this be the problem? i dont want to have to buy a new transmission so please PLEASE help me.

thanks
Chris
