Question Tranny Noise...

Before I go spend some dough on getting this thing fixed, I wanted to see if any of you might know the issue with mine.

Basically in neutral sitting at a light, it makes a metal on metal type of sound. Not grinding, just like it's rubbing on something. It will stop once I put the clutch in. It also does this in 1st-4th, a very small amount in 5th-6th... this is while in gear and foot off the clutch.

I have noticed that it is fine in the wee hours of the morning, but as it gets warm it gets worse. I have changed the fluid but nothing... Also, I have had no issue shifting. No grinding, nothing... just this nasty *** sound.

I have done some searching on many different forums and I haven't been able to come to clear answer. Now I have thought about it being the pilot bearing and have been told maybe the throwout bearing. Though I thought with the LT1 clutch setup that you could not change out your throwout bearing without getting a new clutch... can anyone confirm this?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
