Tranny noise?

My tranny started making a weird vibration/grinding tonight when the clutch is in or partially in. Still goes into every gear just makes a very odd noise. Could it be the throwout bearing? I dunno I am out of ideas. Already had a mechanic check it out be he wasn't completely sure even and told me to check on here. Thanks

I had the same noise, same problem. It would go away when the car was hot. Turned out to be my pressure plate was bent and starting to collaspe in on itself. It was the first stage of my car wanting a new clutch.

Yeah I was thinking my clutch also. Did yours happen to sometimes have a high idle while this was occuring? Like it takes a lot longer for the RPMS to come down and I can cruise in first without touching the gas.

I didnt have the problem with the high idle. I did have a problem like you described when my clutch started slipping real bad. It started off as being able to go in first with out the gas, This is the clutch slipping. Furtehr down the line the car would sit at traffic lights after it turn green in gear with the clutch disengaged for a few seconds before the car would move. Sounds to me like your clutch and pressure plate are toast.
