Tranny experts...i need a diagnosis

O.k...i just got done rebuilding this tranny and i put it on the dyno (a tranny dyno) and i'm getting some weird results. I'm using a TransX2000 to operate the valvebody. When i shift into D or OD (manually), the solenoids will shift but their is no apply. I was suspecting the overrun sprag, forward clutch, or output sprag but when i shifted manually into 1st, i had great line pressure and no slipping...so i shifted up through the gears and got into D and OD. Then when it was in D and OD after i went up the tree, it was able to shift by soleniod. Did it a couple of times and kept on getting the same resutls. So to sum it up:

When shifted into D or OD the solenoids won't shift the tranny....
When put in 1st and worked up the tree, when i get to D and OD the solenoids will shift.

I don't think its valves, because if it was the valves themselves it wouldn't shift manually. It isn't the overrun sprag, forward clutch or output sprag becasue it has great pressure and doesn't slip in any gear. The best thing i can think of is someone prior to me messed with the valvebody, but i can't think of how to fix it. Any suggestions?

anybody?!?!?! This is driving me insane. I have been through every refernce book on the 4L60E that i can find, and gone over valvebody schematics and can't figure out what could possible be wrong!

I am not an expert but I can tell you what I learned when mine was built..
The valvebody has many different size bolts and if you put a longer bolt into a hole designed for a shorter on it will go in but it will block fluid because the way this VB was designed those bolts run throught the fluid passages, and only certain bolts go in certain holes. This could be you problem..

PM 12SCNDZ, or email him (Frank - CPT) through the link in my sig.. He is very helpful, and he gets on here a lot so he may respond this evening.
