Tranny Cooler or not?

I have a 95 Z28 with 58k, the mods i have done are cat-back, cai, minus cat, 3:73's, and PCM programming.

The last two summers i have been towing my jetski around for about at total of 1000 miles. I have since sold my jetski and am wondering that with the gears and the amount of strain put on the transmission from towing would it be a good idea to add a tranny cooler? I do not do a lot of drag racing or agressive take offs, but i do my share. I know they say that it will prolong the life of my transmission but is that only for transmission that are pushed to the limit with horsepower and abuse? If i should get one i have heard that it is better to get one with a built in thermostat so that the transmission atleast heats up to operating tempeture. What are your guys thoughts and who makes a good product?

Thanks Sean

Cooler on the tranny can never hurt.. Unless installed incorrectly.. So my vote is yes.. A4 car's have one in the radiator from the factory but that never allow's it to go below 200deg or so..

Will I have to add tranny fluid, or should I just change the fluid all together? The Chevy garage changed it when i bought it and that was 13k ago. If I do have to just add how much? Do the directions in the cooler tell the amount of fluid to add?

You don't need to change the fluid, just check it after the install and top it off if necessary.
