Re: tranny code

a p1870 is a trans component slipping code. i work at a dealer and there is a bulletin for pretty much all 4l60e's that suggests to replace the valve body and spacer plate for that code. every one that i have had come in was fixed by doing just that. hope this helps.

Re: tranny code

P1870 code can be fixed with a Gil Younger Shift Kit 4L60-E. first you must verify that it is capable of TCC. install a 11/32 Check ball into the TCC solenoid spout, it should kill the engine. if you just got the trans from some one give them a call, they should be able to help. yes i would move the sender from the line pressure tap to the pan. it might be gettin a false reading. the line pressure tap hole has only a small feed channel to it and the fluid maybe heated up as it flows to it.
