Tranny clunks into R

ok i know this is an f-body forum but i know there are some knowledgable people in here reading these that could maybe help...i have a 98 s-10 blazer that makes a loud clunk when i shift into reverse, i've heard a couple other trucks do the same, what is goin on with it. is is a linkage problem, i know you can hear it kind of clink when shifting into 2nd too but not the other gears (its an auto). if anyone could help that would be great, sorry for posting a truck ? in this forum but generally cars and trucks are the same...i know many differences but you get my point.

I replaced the differential in my 95 Z28 and the "going into reverse clunk" is all but gone.

Regards
