Which tranny in 93 Z28?

Looking at buyin a 93 Z28. Guy says auto tranny is blown. The car is quite a drive awayor I'd just take a look at it myself and he doesn't know for sure which tranny is in it. I'm thinking the LT1 cars had the 4l60e starting in 93. But is it a 4l60 or 700/r? I've searched but couldn't find a definitive answer on the net. I just got through rebuilding the 4l60e in my wife's burb and it wasn't a big deal at all: much easier than I had anticipated. For a $1000 I ended up putting together a really nice tranny for towing our 7000# toy hauler. Thanks for any input in advance. If I buy this car it will be a project for me and my teenage boys.

It should be a 4l60. A non electronic 4l60e, and an upgraded internally 700r4. Eric L

Yeah. That's what I was thinking, just nice to know for sure. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading to an "E" and what all that would take? I'm guessing adding a new ECM/PCM as the case may be?
