No you cant turn the converter and flex plate because you do not have the converter fully seated in the pump , As was said above remove trans and try again , Even if you do get the converter bolts in your going to break the pump when you start the car ,

Think a little more . You can run the engine with the transmission in anything from Park, to Neutral, to Drive, right? This isn't a manual with locked in GEARS.

Now, get back out to the garage and start pulling that b!tch apart!!
