Torque Multiplication Question

I am getting a new 9" rear next week. The car is a 2001 A4 (See Sig. For Details).

Current setup is a 10 bolt with 3:23 gears. I will now be going to 9" with 3:89 gears. Can someone tell me what will happen to the torque numbers making this jump in gear size?

My current Dyno numbers are:

RWHP = 400
RWTQ = 379

So, I take it my rear wheel HP goes down a bit. Does moving from 3:23s to 3:89s mean my Tq number will increase? If so, any idea on how to figure out approximatley how much?

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Torque Multiplication Question

There is no appreciable change in hp or torque on a chassis dyno with a change in the gear ratio.
