Arrow torque converter bolts??

sorry for the newb-ness but, does a torque converter have bolts that hold it in or down or something? (in my 98 auto z28)

cause i have a viberation at the top of every gear, and when i rev it up parked either in park or nuetral.... could this be the 'torque converter bolts'?

some local mech. said this is a common problem among f-bodys and vettes and there is a plate that removes so you can tighten up these bolts...

I thought he was talking hot air, what do you guys think?

Re: torque converter bolts??

yes, there are bolts that hold the torque converter to the flexplate. there should also be an access plate on the very bottom front of the transmission that is removable to access these bolts. remove this plate, and rotate the engine by hand to access all the bolts. there should be three or four depending on the engine. you need to torque these bolts down, don't just assume they're tight enough.

btw, this is a very noob topic, but how else do you learn but to ask questions? good luck, hope that works out for you.
