It can be a huge pain to get on either way but I bolt it to the rear end first then push up on the tip toward the tranny to get it into the clamshell mount. Takes a few minutes that way.

I found that making height adjustments with the floorjack helps to line up the bolts as well.

for the future, you don't have to take it off the rear end to remove tranny just unbolt from tranny and let it rest on floor pan and when you put it back in pull it down into mount--if nothing else works you can remove shocks and springs then you can turn diff, easier

What I do is place the edge of the jack as close to the rear end cover as possible(as far away from the u-joint as possible towards the back of the car), and jack it up only alittle, then pull down on the u-joint to align it and slide the torque arm over the rear.

The closer the edge of the jack is to the cover, the more leverage you can get when pulling down on the u-joint and it'll make it easier to get it at the right angle.

Don't jack the rear up too much cause it the jack slips off the end and the rear falls down and hits you in the head, it could ruin your day.
