Throwout Bearing adjustment?
Throwout Bearing adjustment?
I have a 95 Z28 with a T56. I just replaced the throwout bearing and it is making a rattling sound at idle. When I press in the clutch the sound goes away. Since the sound goes away it isn't the pilot bearing or the input shaft. The clutch grips fine and doesn't chatter.
Anyways, if I push slightly on the clutch release lever the sound will go away. Is there any adjustment I can make on the hydraulic clutch assembly or near the lever to shim it so the sound goes away?
Thanks.

After my swap I don't have any rattle/clutch chatter. None I can hear anyway. I installed a Ram HDX clutch. One thing I did was lube the T/O bearing and input shaft with high temp. grease, as the T56 manual says.
Yes, we did lube the inside of the bearing and the fork (lightly). I suppose there isn't much I can do about it unless I pull it apart again and try a different bearing. I was hoping I could put a little tension on the bearing to stop the noise but that would just ride the clutch.
