Those of you with High stalls i need your input

Ok so I put a 3400 stall in my trans that only has about 6k miles since rebuild.@ the same time i put a b&m shift kit and z pack clutches. This thing launches like a motha but it doesnt have the "tire blazing" shifts that i thought it would have, even if its above 3400 rmp's. Question is,is the stall soaking up the shift and im not feeling it or is it not shifting like it should? Little more info,I installed the 3 washers for the max 1-2 shift, after trans heats up it slips like crazy in 3 and 4th and i put a b&m supercool trans cooler on it.Why is it still getting so hot even with 2 trans coolers? Any help would be great.

A high stall converter will make shifts seem softer. I would be more concerned with the slipping in third gear, especially if you just put a z-pak clutch in it. Sounds like your clearances are off.

Is your lock up working properly ?? If your converter never locks ,it will create unnecessary heat . Did you have it tuned after the t/c install ? You can turn up the line pressures to increase the firmness . My car shifts softer also since my 4000 stall in my stock trans . But it still chirps in between 1-2 shifts on full throttle .The slipping on 3-4 shifts is not good news though .

what worries me is the z-pack uses thinerr steels than stock to make up room for the added clutches , maybe there warpin out on ya . i have a 4k in mine on the 1-2 its hard the 2-3 is softer than the 1-2 but still firm remeber that we have 2 tranny setings 1 is perf and 1 is normal make sure u are w.o.t and see what it does but you deff need a tune for the conv

torque converter is locking up.It hasn't been tuned yet so hopefully this will help but there is no tire chirping under wot like i expected. When i installed the clutches i checked the clearance exactly like the instructions advised. There were a few things that weren't very clear in the shift kit install so i think im gonna pull it and have a local shop go through it.

Shift kit install was not an easy job for me, I wonder how people install it so easily. Hopefully a friend saved me from installing charge.Instruction manuals should be clear and simple.
